The beat

The machinery behind online casino platforms, and specifically the parts that decide whether an account is safe to hold. How account and payment data is encrypted while it moves and while it sits. What a testing house’s certificate actually covers, and what it conspicuously does not. How a live dealer studio controls the chain between a physical table and a video stream. Which of an operator’s security claims a person outside the company can verify, and which have to be taken on trust — a distinction that runs through nearly every article on this site.

How he works

Slowly, from documents. A piece starts with the primary source — the RFC, the regulator’s technical standard, the certification scheme’s published scope — rather than with the operator’s marketing page, and the operator’s own claims are treated as claims by an interested party. Technical terms get defined the first time they appear, because the reader in mind holds a casino account and does not work in security. Anything that cannot be checked from public information is either rewritten as an attributed statement or cut. The full method is on How We Research.

What he will not write: security scores, because there is no honest way to compress a platform’s posture into a number from outside. Vulnerability claims about named companies, because this desk runs no tests against anyone’s systems and an untested accusation is both bad practice and unfair. Statistics whose origin cannot be traced to the body that produced them.

What he is not

Not a penetration tester, not an auditor, not a compliance officer, and not certified by anyone. This is a writing desk, and claiming credentials it does not have would be an odd way to run a site about verifying other people’s claims. Articles here are explanation and public-source research — useful, and bounded.
